ON LORE AND KNOWLEDGE SKILLS

Players are strongly recommended to spend development on lore across a variety of areas. Lore knowledge will be critical to the success of any campaign on Kulthea. Success and survival will depend on having sufficient knowledge of the environment, inhabitants and related interests to Kulthea.

Campaign Rule: For each initial levels (Adolescence, Levels 1 to 3) each player must take at least 2 picks in lore each level and must take at least 3 different lore skills by level 3.

Flora Lore Knowledge on local wildlife (can be specialised into specific regions) Bonus to using herbs/plants, recognising herbs/plants. Bonus to static manoeuvre for herb usage (50% of flora lore possible).
Heraldry Knowledge on heraldic and family symbols Bonus to recognising NPC’s and their motivations.
History (Specify) Knowledge of past events (general World History) or for specific region, area, culture or period. Provides more detailed background to game or events.
Bonus to interpreting experiences to past events. Bonus to recognising significance of people, places, items and events.

Philosophy Knowledge of philosophy doctrine and understanding Bonus for recognising and identifying aspects of philosophic doctrines.
Region Lore: Own Region Knowledge of own (or other) geography Provides more information on region. Bonus to selecting most efficient travel routes, recognising places from descriptions. Reduces hazards and number of random encounters when travelling.

Each race has some understanding of their own region (by default)
Religion Knowledge of religions, deities and holy services and events Provides more detailed information on deities.
Bonus to holy services/rituals. Bonus to recognition of holy symbols, deities and events.
Highly recommended for Channeling classes
Martial Arts Style Lore Knowledge of Martial Arts styles and forms of unarmed attacks Bonus for learning martial arts styles from masters than can enhance martial arts combat skill. Bonus for determining appropriate responses to martial arts styles.
Weapon Style Lore Knowledge of Weapon styles and forms of attacks with weapons Bonus for learning weapon styles from masters that can enhance combat skill. Bonus for determining appropriate responses to weapon styles.

Circle Lore Knowledge of magical circles, rituals and spell usage Bonus for recognising and identifying magical circles and rituals associated with them. Provides understanding of usage of such circles
Divination Lore Knowledge of divination activities and prophesising Bonus for recognising and identifying divination rituals and devices. Bonus to prophecy.
Dream Lore Knowledge of dreams and dream prophecy Bonus for recognising and identifying dream rituals and devices. Bonus to understanding and predicating prophetic outcomes of dreams.
Dreamworld Lore Knowledge of the “Dream plane” Bonus for recognising dream world involvement and interference. Provides information on Dreamworld inhabitants and their involvement in normal life.

Requires high skill to be practical due to obscurity of the lore.
Glyph Lore Knowledge of Magical signs and glyphs Bonus for recognising and identifying magical symbols, signs and glyphs. Bonus to applying glyphs. Bonus to avoiding effects of glyphs. Bonus to determining magical symbols and their purpose.
Planar Lore Knowledge of extra-dimensional planes Bonus for recognising and identifying extra-planar beings, their abilities and weaknesses. Provides information on extra-dimensional planes. Supported by lore in Magic (Circle Lore).
Spell Lore Knowledge of spells and spell rituals Bonus to understanding and recognising spells. Bonus to recognising spells cast onto person and for casting instant spells to counteract (if possible).
Symbol Lore Knowledge of magical symbols Bonus for recognising and manipulating symbols. Can enhance magical ability around symbols and their application
Undead Lore Knowledge of undead and/or necromancy Bonus for recognising and identifying major powers and abilities of Undead
Warding Lore Knowledge of magical wards Bonus for manipulating and using wards in conjunction with appropriate ward spells. Can enhance magical ability around wards and their application.

Poison Lore Knowledge of poisons and debilitating herbs Bonus for recognising and identifying poisons knowledge of proper application and usage techniques. Useful when teamed with Herb Lore so as to understand and apply herb poisons.
Recommended for stealth classes and assassins.
Stone Lore Knowledge of stones, rocks and stone craft Bonus for recognising and identifying stones, famous, magical, powerful, historic, cursed and legendary.
Trading Lore Knowledge of trade-related affairs Bonus for recognising and identifying trade related activities such as trade routes, mercantile contracts, traditions, rituals, exchange rates, etc
